Phil Cribb is the owner and operator of Sorrel CMS. His background is in Estate Management and he obtained a degree in Countryside Conservation at Aberytswyth University, which focused on protecting and enhancing UK habitats for wildlife. Phil delivered practical and theoretical environmental courses in Countryside Management, Aboriculture, Animal Science and Agriculture at Further Education colleges across the UK.

In 2015, Phil started Sorrel CMS; offering fencing and estate management services. In 2018, a woodchipper was purchased to assist with the hedgerow maintenace work and then in 2020, a compact tractor and post knocker was bought to cope with the demand for fencing. The majority of the work is carried out on small estates or holdings where soil compaction and access are limiting factors; the small tractor and the 200kg contractors post knocker proves vital to completion of the works. Hedgerow management, including hedge laying, is carried out by 'hand' by a small team of experienced personnel.
